 Using State and Country Blocking
Solution

Nanacast supports the ability to block purchases at the state/province level (for US, Canada and Australia) and at the country level, on a per-offer basis.

The State/Country blocking features require that you enable the State and Country custom fields on the Notifications/Custom Fields page of the offer.

Note: For Credit Card and Stripe offers, we recommend using the ‘Condensed form’ layout for your form with State/Country blocking feature. (see Using a Condensed checkout form)

State blocking

State blocking can be configured by adding/editing the State custom field:

On the add/edit page for the State custom field, you’ll find a “Stop Transactions From Specific Locations” section.

Check the country of the state/province you wish to block:

Click to select the state. (hold ctrl/option key to select multiple)

Then select the action you want to take if a customer from the blocked states attempts to purchase:

  • Display the default Error Message

  • Redirect to a custom URL

  • Display a custom Error Message

If you select the custom URL or Error Message option, you will be prompted to provide the URL or the error message (supports HTML):

Click “Commit” to save your changes.

Country blocking

Country blocking can be configured by adding/editing the Country custom field:

On the add/edit page for the Country custom field, you’ll find a “Stop Transactions From Specific Countries” section.

Check the “Select Countries” option, and click to select the country. (hold ctrl/option key to select multiple):

Then select the action you want to take if a customer from the blocked countries attempts to purchase:

  • Display the default Error Message

  • Redirect to a custom URL

  • Display a custom Error Message

If you select the custom URL or Error Message option, you will be prompted to provide the URL or the error message (supports HTML):

Click “Commit” to save your changes.
